How do you train your doodles?
View Single PostView Single Post

Do you specifically just hang out at your estate training them, invite friends to your house so you can have a 'training party' or do you just train as you go?

Lately I've been lax on training the doodles. I really need to get one for my duck sell uber and train it well as he'll be TU-less. Loopy's doodle can only do 6 on jump, and that's the only one she's moved up on.

Well, my doodle is pretty new. I had a lot of doodles. Laughing Her name is Emerald. She is pretty smart when she feels like it. Laughing Her dance skills are almost complete. Shes a good dancer. I just make my doodle do three tricks a day. It adds up after a while.

LVTP and Treading Water both have doodles maxed on three or so tricks. I am unable to train the remaining doodles in the same fashion. I made sure I bought good ones before I wasted any time on them. Any time I need to heal, whether it be 10lp or 100lp, I use the doodles. It begins to add up quickly and after a while, they tend to perform pretty well.

When you say "maxxed" on doodle tricks, do you mean..."can't go no higher" or "from a 5 point JUMP to 6 point JUMP"? I have seen doodles jump for over 10 Laff before.

I used to buy as many doodle tricks as I could, but now I opt for JUMP only! It is the easiest trick for the doodles to perform and even the newbie toons come stock with JUMP! King Fuzzyfoot and Fat Knuckles Octopop's doodles...(Pavlov and Haywire respectively) are both JUMPING at 7 Laff and are at half meter til' 8. I usually just go to the estate and burn 15 minutes having them jump!

Have a good one!

Being maxed on 2 of my doodles, I do go back to "doodle" when I need more laff vs finding it on the playground. I'll have to say, that usually I, too, only use jump, since I have so many doodles...and I continue on saying it when I get there, jump, jump, jump, jump....I have DDL doodles, and MOST perform wonderfully. Jump is maxed on MOST of them, guess it's time to start a different phrase...

Yes, jump is at 10 for max, and the others add 2 each time, bringing speak up to 22 when maxed.

Ok since were on the subject of training.. For those who have their doodles trained to high levels, i have this question.

Once they are trained well does it actually help them to perform when you call them in battle? My lady has one that it's still about 60% likely that it will just sit there when called and she has high levels on all her tricks.

I have one maxed that rocks (but it's used quite a bit) my other maxed doodle is on a toon that is still in TTC (forever unless I get moving) and that one not so much....I think it's also a case of use it or lose it??? Then I guess you add the traits yhey came with.... Anywho to answer your question I did find mine (the one tested often) works better now that it's a higher level.

I doodle by hand any time I need any Laff... call them and doodle leave them happy. I have started to just work one Trick at a time recently. I have also upgraded my doodles to better traits which seems to have helped too. I doodle more on Test since I'm still running tasks there....

I train mine once or twice a week, and make my doodle do around 10-20 tricks each time.

I say "speak" ten times in a row. My DDL doodle does it once (if I'm lucky). I get frustrated (and contemplate telling her she stinks, which makes her angry, heh heh) and give up for the day. I'm thinking in about nine to ten years or so, my doodle will be maxxed this way!

Careful now Shocked

Some one once used adult language on their Doodle and they lost their account for 72 hours...

I have one doodle that does Speak well and another one that did Backflip well (both at the same estate)... I would alternate between the 2 but I have gone back to just jump so all of the doodles will do it. I do: Here Boy/Girl! Good Boy/Girl! Jump (the trick)!....over and over...seems to work and I try to scratch one of the 'slow' ones while still saying the 3 commands over and over.
