View Single PostView Single Post

Does anyone have any idea when TT is going to support Vista? TT says they will extend my subscription for problems, i just cant understand why Disney wouldnt be right up on this. Hasnt Vista been out for some time now?

My husband told me that he heard Vista will be THE operating system coming up in January 2008. That Microsoft will no longer make updates for XP, just as they stopped for Windows 2000 and beyond. With that, I'm sure that Disney WILL have to be pushed into making sure that Vista is compatible...

What problems are you having with vista? Other than being a bit of a pain to set up, I really haven't had any problems. Sometimes I lag, but I blame that more on the network speed and due to the fact that it is a wireless laptop. Have you done the security settings as listed in the Disney FAQ's? here's the link Are you hardwired to your modem? Is this a new pc with Vista already installed? Or did you install Vista on an older pc?

We had another thread about this, not sure if you already checked all these things. I know another little duckie who gave up on vista and went back to xp because of problems.

Yes, that is what the guy at computer store told me as well. While buying a new laptop I was already aware of vista issues with toontown and wanted a non vista laptop! However, he chuckled and said they are all vista. Microsoft will not be supporting other OS. I know it sounds silly dishing out this $$$ for a laptop that will have enough speed, memory, etc. for TT! (well maybe not on this forum) I need one to play 2 accts with my son, duh..... Surprised

Yes it is a new wireless laptop with vista. I did shut off AUC and other fixes.I had it running for well over an hour. Funny thing about lagging is while playing with my son, I was lagging on his comp, but not on my screen. Except later walked away and went sleepy. So I cleared temp files and then could not get it to go again.. Can I not clear these files if I'm running vista? I tried to put the launcher address in IE and could still not get it to go. And furthermore, now the free trial acct I was working just to check out is not even registering! I do have 200GB hard drive,
and 2gb memory....

I did get TT to play nicely using the above link......but I never did get test to work. That's why I am now without sound/DVD/CD and many other features on this laptop as I went back to XP until Disney gets their act together. (or boss is done on test....which ever is first) I don't recommend it as you'll find most of your drivers and all kinds of good stuff inside isn't XP compatable. GOOD LUCK!

Hmm - Every toon goes sleepy if not being used for a certain length of time - can't remember what it is - maybe 5 or 10 minutes, then they log you out (used to be able to bounce or park at your telephone, or some other ways, but tt has been fixing that). As for lag, mine has never been as bad as others. Mine is definitely when we are having internet or router problems. And occasionally if I have been playing tt for a very long time - doing boss battles, watering the garden, etc... Then I may have to log out and re-boot, but that is it.

By clearing out your temp files maybe you deleted something that tt needed? Have you tried un-installing, then re-installing the whole thing?
