I have been having connection issues the last week. My isp has been having many problems. Been getting disconnected from Toontown a LOT. Working on maxing golfing and had been on for hours without loosing my connection (didn't really want to rock that boat) but it was time to get my daughter from the bus so I did the dot trick and put something on the period key to keep myself from falling asleep while I ran to the corner to pick her up. Was at my estate, blue district, no harm? No foul?
Wrong I guess. Woke up this morning to this, first time ever, and I have 5 accounts! My black cat spots for tomorrow were on this account. One already named. I have e-mailed them mentioning the fact that Black cats are a once a year opportunity and questioning the severity of the language, so we shall see. I know many people do the dot thing so be careful!
We are writing to inform you that inappropriate language has been found within a chat log attached to your account, shown below:
04:04:03 : ................................................................................
04:04:04 : ................................................................................

04:05:00 : ................................................................................

Due to the nature of the language, we have placed your account on a 72-hour hold. To regain access to your account after the 72 hours, please review and agree to our Terms of Use and House Rules here: http://disney.go.com/corporate/legal/terms.html.
We wish to create a friendly online environment, so using language that could be deemed inappropriate on Disney's community of web sites is not permitted. Remember to keep it clean and keep it kind!

Awwwwww.....that stinks....I hope they allow you to somehow make your black cats that you wanted to make. I'm so sorry that happened to you.
Disney needs to figure out a way to make it so adults can actually talk. I understand it's a kids game, and yes, we do need to protect the children, but comeon...they know that there are adults playing too.

That is terrible! I hope you get your cats made.
since when is "..................................................................................................." inappropriate language? is there some language I'm unaware of?
As Toontown is "E" for everyone- you'd think they could/should figure out that adults talk to each other.

And if Disney allowed the Adults to talk freely and a kid logged onto the parents account and something happened to said child, Disney would be blamed and sued for it.
It is a game intended for children and rules need to be followed.
I guess they are going to crack down on staying logged in one way or another. River would not always be red if everyone logged out and in when they were playing. I for one have never approved of "parking toons". It's not fair to everyone else.
Getting off my soap box now.

No, I agree with you on that...I guess the only solution for someone that doesn't want to talk within the guidelines would be to go to a game that they can...
I just feel for ya Gail...sorry that happened to you.

Actually the game is intended for families, and I think this goes back to parental responsibility. You don't have to talk "adult" to talk inappropriately. If you are an adult and have adult sf's then my feeling is unless you truly trust all your sf's to behave if your kids get on your toons, you don't allow your children on your toons. *shrugs*. This is a real hard topic but I TRULY believe in parental responsibility. That's just my personal opinion, of course keeping the kids safe who's parents will not monitor their online activity is always a concern.
As far as parking lol, I have my own thoughts on the monster named "Nutty River". Disney created that beast and they need to figure out a solution to everyone "needing" to be in the same district. There are a few very simple solutions but Disney chooses to prevent people from staying there rather that dealing with the issue at hand, the invasion district (singular).
I was not in Nutty River though, I was in Gigglyfield and it was blue. Thinking about this now I believe it was an innocent number I said the other day, twice, that was blocked both times, when a friend asked how many medium courses I had, that caused my account to get flagged. Then they saw the dots and jumped. *sigh*.. I'm so bummed.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. The timing stinks! The language didn't seem inappropriate to me. Now my 10 yr old daughter, on the other hand, recently got a warning. I had to go back and forth with Disney to get the log. The bright child said "I live in the peach state. I live in GA." Duh. After I just got through telling her NO personal info and that Disney gets mad at any personal info. Hope she learned her lesson!

Scarlet, I'm sorry that happened, but here is a suggestion for the cats: Open a trial, and take the first month for $5. Make your cats and turn them black. When you get the old account back, switch them over and cancel the new account. At least you would have your cats then....
I worry constantly now because my little ones like to type and make the toons talk. I have had to tell them now that they must type a word like "hi" or "cat". It's a bummer that they have to worry about that. Series of dots would be just the type of thing they would do. I'm guessing the problem with the dots was what they call "flooding" but they really need to get more specific in their warnings!

I agree with Lady Z about the warnings needing to be more specific. They need to get rid of the canned responses and give the details in their emails. Disney is known for guest service and Toontown is lacking that factor in a BIG WAY!! Also , Lady Z's idea of starting an extra account is quick thinking.
I also agree about responsible parenting but in the days of "it's not my fault, you didn't tell me my coffee was hot and I burned myself" all companies have to be much more diligent to avoid being sued. Parents see the word Disney and assume their kids are safe. Oh, the things I see kids doing at WDW that make me cringe and their parents are watching!! It's Disney, nothing will happen to my child. WRONG!
Disney did not create River. We did. A group of toons decided (on another forum) to gather in one district and concentrate calling invasions there. It was never Disney's idea. We created the monster.....we need to think of a solution for it not Disney. We may loose invasions all together if the problem persists. Toons find a way to park and Disney finds a way to stop them. Our toons fall asleep and go to bed so others can play. I don't have a solution. I go to River or Summit get my notices and leave. I don't golf or garden of race in River.
Don't get me wrong, I am sorry this happened to you. After some of our fun adult runs or golf games I always dread looking at my email afraid of getting another warning or being suspended.

Oh my, isn't that the truth! I took Bill to my Tuesday morning Bowling today. One of my teammates plays TT. She mentioned she just got a suspension note - not sure what was said, did she tell you Bill? I am sure it was something we wouldn't think of, knowing her husband (who was playing at the time).
There have been so many times I'm shocked that I haven't been suspended!!

What a bummer! I like the idea of the quickie account though. I didn't know you could move toons from one account to another!
Since we're talking about getting suspended, what kind of things in general will get you shut down? I know language, but what about behavior? My hubby likes to be a little naughty at times with his toon and won't listen to me when I tell him to knock it off. It drives me nuts because I'm always trying to be the friendliest and most helpful I can be but him, well, he's still a little boy who likes to mess around at heart I guess! LOL He likes to mess with sleeping toons, and just goof off really. Can that get the account suspended? Will TT warn you before suspending you? These would be good things to know before he messes up MY account! LOL
thanks for any info!

That's a really good idea, the freebie account. I deleted a couple toons on another account though and moved things around already. Think Ill use the freebie idea for a couple extra black cats though! Never know when you might need an extra toon, right? Thank you!
I was in a panic I wouldn't get it done before live chat closed so my son graciously let me delete 2 toons off his account that he will never play anyhow lol.. I'm still very annoyed. They are such robots, read what you are sending! Due to the nature of the language??!! Come on!
Someone mentioned their online support being a disgrace, it is so true! I have always loved Disney. There theme parks, hotels, any Disney establishment they bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. Disney online is a disgrace to the Disney name. You cannot even get help for 99% of the issues in this game by picking up a phone. To me this shows such a lack of caring for their subscribers. Shame on THEM!

I agree with you, if they would only open their eyes and really look at what they are doing and not doing, we wouldn't be going rounds with their quote " help "
and things would be a lot smoother, say like their parks, stores, I don't know maybe real customer relations.

Ok...I understand the premise behind the suspensioon (I don't agree with it but, whatever). The whole rules thing is what it is, a set of rules and although we may not agree with them they are what they are. I try to teach my children that although they may not like the rules (not Disney, anywhere) they are to follow them...they are put there for a reason and it doesn't matter whether they like them or agree with them, they are just to follow them. This is just one example for kids that adults too have rules that they have to follow whether or not they like them. Just a hard fact of life I guess.
I do, however, think that if they are going to suspend you for keeping your toon awake then they need to make up a new form letter for just such instances instead of putting that under the guise of "inappropriate language".
I am sorry about not being able to make your cats...I like Lady Z's suggestion though, sounds like a plan.

If the rules were spelled out clearly I wouldn't have a problem with them at all. After all it's their game and if we want to play we can follow the rules; just as on a website we can follow the rules or leave.
The problem is the rules are NOT clear. For instance it does not say you can't give out an e-mail or IM (or didn't used to anyway). "Personal info" is vague and means different things to different people. They need to decide what's not allowed, spell it out clearly and let us know exactly what our violation was when it happens, without us having to jump through hoops to get it.

Roger that, I completely agree...I have yet to be suspended for anything *knocks on wood..or wood laminate-does that count*. I know there have been reasons that I should and it would seem that the suspensions aren't consistent either, some people will get suspended while others don't for the same things. I know that someone I am SF with said he got suspended because of chat with me (something again about location) but I didn't hear anything about it...so if you are going to suspend one person doesn't it make sense that you would suspend the person who you are talking to also?!?
Rules...spell them out with detail so that we can know what is acceptable and what is not...I think it depends on who is monitering your chat also, and apparently they don't have a protocol for that either...must make it difficult for their employees also, huh?

Just a note: I don't think you can make black cats on a free account. You'll have to pay but the first month after a trial is only $5 so at least it buys you some time.
