In doing more racing lately (very slowly inching my way toward that elusive third GSW laff boost) and in racing myself on two accts (talk about a hoot, try getting your left hand to do a sharp right turn on one keyboard and your right hand to go straight and actually hit the speedburst on the other keyboard--at first I struggled to get either car over the finish line in time to qualify), I've learned some new stuff about GSW.

When you get your hands on an anvil and hold on to it, and then manage to get in first position, if you drop the anvil while you're in first position, it doesn't hit anyone. I never knew that. I've always thought I was being sneaky by holding on to my anvils, getting into first position, then when they drop one on my head, I immediately drop the one I'm holding back on them--ha ha on them. But the laugh's on me--I wasn't hurting them at all as long as I remained in first position. I gotta hold on to that anvil a few seconds longer, until Mr.-Dude-Who-Just-Dropped-One-On-Me gets in front of me.

I've also been trying to determine if there is any rhyme or reason to the boxes on the raceway. I'll stop at one, use it, wait for the box to reappear, get that one, try the next box down the line, etc. (when I'm racing myself, I can get away with this stuff). As far as I can determine, it's completely random. I've had a few racers (randoms) drop anvils on me repeatedly. Like 4-5 times in a race. Just me and him. I raced them again (yeah, that wasn't too smart), and they did it again. That's defying some pretty big odds. I'm wondering if they've tweaked something (something they ought not be messing with) to accomplish this? I almost think they had to have. Either that or they've figured out a pattern to the boxes that eludes me, or lady luck smiles on them a whole lot more than she smile on me (I think she frowns on me for the most part). Smile

Ok - I'm beginning to worry about you now. Sneaking by the boxes and opening them all up?
Some people are too curious by half Smile

I don't know how I figured out that anvils don't help if you are in first place. I think it is the same with pies or do they fly backwards at all? There are definitely toons that have a lot of luck with getting anvils. I like anvils!

I am the worst Racer there is... I have tried and tried and I am always last.. if by some rare occasion that I am in the lead that guy that blasted you with the anvils must be racing me too.. cause it drops on me every time I get ahead. I too often wondered if there was a pattern to the gag boxes. It does seem like some toons get the anvil all the time. Me.. I get the slippery banana and usually end up spinning myself around with it.. LOL.. I didnt realize that anvil wont work if your in the lead...
You are gifted to used 2 keyboards at once! I cant even keep 1 tuv on the track...

Unless you're working on the trophies for both toons, you might want to consider alt'ing one out of the race. If you hit Alt+F4 after the timer reaches 0 but before the cart goes onto the track (just as the black circle is closing in), the alt'ing toon won't lose any tickets and the toon you didn't alt will still get the winning race credit. I know if I tried to actually RACE two at once, I wouldn't get the qualifying time on either one LOL. I finished up my grand prix sweeps doing this method, about 90 more wins on each track to get that 3rd trophy still . . .

I tried alting out once before on a grand prix not long ago. Hadn't heard about the black-circle-closing-in-timing thing--that's good to know! I managed to lose the 1000 ticket deposit on my son's toon. He had about 1011 tickets to his name before I did that, and he'd been so happy earlier that week when he reached the 1000 ticket mark, so I've been trying to get those tickets back for him before he notices what mommy did to his toon! HEH HEH. He doesn't play often, but when he does play, he likes to race. I'm up to about 750 tickets on his toon now, but since his toon "has" to lose every race (because Midnight Rose "has" to win--at least when I'm racing myself, that's the way it goes!), it's been slow getting those tickets back for him. I'm thinking I might get busted before I get them all back Smile
