CFO Training
View Single PostView Single Post

As mentioned in another thread, I suggested the possiblity of another TTF Training Run for the CFO. I went to a mini one of these when I first joined TTF. Just this one run made a ton of difference in my CFO play. I had some very good coaches! Very Happy

Anyway, I thought this might be a good idea with some of our newer members who has joined TTF. Our success rate is very high, but we have taken a few dents here lately. And as the cliche goes "We are only as strong as our weakest link." And if our "weakest" link is strong then we only better ourselves as a team.

OK...My weekdays that I can do this are Monday and Tuesday. That is when my wife is off and can help me with the kiddos. Since she works in fast food, her shifts do change. I'm not sure of the weekends. I would need to wait till closer to the day and see what her schedule.

I'm going to need a volunteer training force. Anyone interested? If so, please put your name here. I will update this post as I see volunteers Post

I'm also going to need to make of list of people who would like to attend with days that you would be available to attend.

Also, do we want to try to pair a trainee with a Trainer via SF code?

I feel like I do okay with stomping, but any insights from the more experienced toons would be more than welcome. I'd also love to learn how to crane!

Wednesdays are iffy for me. I'm gone every other one. Otherwise any evening works pretty well.

Ok...I've added the trainers and trainees at this point. As I get to reading, maybe I can get trainers to pick what they would like to train on. And trainees to request what area they need the most training.

What do you think of being paired with a partner? Maybe exchange temp SF code for better communication?

I think thats a good idea there is just so much you can say with speedchat and I think it would be a better understanding what I am doing wrong and a better way to do it.

Oh man! I'd love to help you with this venture, but I am so not qualified to train anyone on anything pertaining to the CFO, especially the crane. But, I will gladly run around stomping and keeping goons off craners' backs while someone else tells them what to do! Yep, I'm chicken!! Very Happy

Ummm . . . you put Nanner down as a Trainer?? I suppose I could use some training on my pedicure Mr. Green

I've participated in several of the CCG Crane Training events, first as a trainee and now as a helper. What makes these runs work so well is that there's at least a few helpers in each run that are seasoned at both stomping and craning. The helpers stomp goons like crazy and leave the treasures while the trainees practice in a relaxed atmosphere. If/when the going starts getting too rough, the helpers can finish him off.

Here's a link to how the CCG runs work and some tips on craning http://www.toontowncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176383

I'd be happy to help out on a TTF run, Tuesdays are tough to make because of the uber runs. Most any other day is ok, just depends on if it's my turn to be taxi service for the night.

Crane Training
View Single PostView Single Post

Thanks for a great idea. I would love to have some training in both but especially craining which I am scared to touch. The next 2 weeks I will be in Florida and do not know when the computer will be available there but after March 1 anytime would pretty much be ok. Helen

Whoo-hoo!!! I love this idea!!! Thank you so much!
I need training in both areas when it comes to the CFO battle. After my first run, I never went in again, afraid to mess other toons up with my ignorance.
The only problem is that I work in retail and my off days change from week to week. This week I'm off today and on Sunday, next week on the weekend, but... where there is a will, there is a way, right?!

Ok...I'm making a decision. I don't think we're going to swap SF codes. The reason being that many of our toons that we would use to escort are full. At least I know my main toon (Bear Lee Here) is full with none that I can remove. What I think we will do instead is pair up 4 trainers with 4 trainees. I know that may sound like overkill (and a bit boring to some), but I think it would take the pressure off the trainees a little more. Plus you can never have too much protection when the little red dudes start swarming.

I have also assumed that everyone who is training will be a craner. I figured while you are craning, you can observe your trainers stomping style and incorporate what they are doing later on in TTF CFO runs. At least that is what I did. You can get plenty of practice with stomping later.

I have also listed the TTF name with the toon that I'm assuming will be at the training run. If I have an incorrect name, please let me know. I think we will do the training run at the beginning of March (date to be determined later). I want to give folks ample opportunity to sign up to the training run. Plus it gives folks a chance to come back from vacations.

As we get closer to the event, I will create our 8 toon teams. I know that I am making a big assumption that we will have enough trainers and trainees to fill an 8 toon roster. However, should we fall short of trainers, what we may have to do is span this event to 2 days. Or do a revenge-like run for the ones who didn't make it to the first run.

If I have missed an angle here, please let me know.

If there is room I would love to learn the crane, I do ok with the stomp thing, as long as there are good craners with me we all make it out alive, I would like to be a good craner too, I tried it once and it was not pretty...... Rolling Eyes
