I'm having problems getting on to TT from my laptop on home. I'm hoping someone who knows something about computers can help me. I got it downloaded and then I sign on. When I click on my toon it tells me I am going to TTC and then it tells me "Your internet connection to the servers has been unexpectedly broken." I was able to get on yesterday for a little while and then it knocked me off and I haven't been able to get in since then. Now I know that sounds pretty simple, but my daughter is on the desktop which is connected to the same router and she isn't getting knocked off. I am going under different accounts. Any help would be great. I have Vista on this computer. Thanks!

Are you plugged in to the router, or on wireless? I had the same problem a long time ago and solved it by plugging in. After that I got a new router and the wireless worked great.

I had that same problem a while back. But I probly can't be much help, seeing as the schools connection is through ethernet. So sometimes I'll be connected but at the same time not connected. And I'm losing the connection all the time anyways just because the server around here sucks that bad. It gets REALLY irritating... So I can def. understand what youre going through though.
Sorry I can't be much help. That problem just gradually went away for me.

The desktop is plugged into the router but I am wireless on the laptop. I wondered if that wasn't part of the problem. Now I am able to get on it from my laptop, my husband just created a toon so now I am playing w/him. Now we have 3 different people on 1 paid account. Not thinking that is going to work! lol Looks like we may be paying for 2 accounts now. I am playing off of a free one when they are on. It sounds like quite a few here pay for more than 1 account. Thanks for the feedback

I would suggest plugging it in, then, and see if that helps. A pain to be sure, LOL!!

If only one computer is disconnecting in the house, check to make sure that you have the latest video driver for the disconnecting machine. (Set a system restore point prior to installing the new driver incase there is a conflict)
Also, try using a wired connection instead of a wireless connection. Wi-Fi signals typically reach 100 feet (30 m) or more but obstructions like walls can greatly reduce their range. Wireless signals are subject to interference from other home applicances including microwave ovens, cordless telephones, and garage door openers. If you are using 802.11a or 802.11g technology it is sufficient for home Internet connection sharing and file sharing, but generally not sufficient for home LAN gaming.
If all your machines are disconnecting, you should enable port triggering in your router for ports 6112 and 6667. You would do so by accessing your routers configurations (typically accessing the router by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 in the address line) and look for port triggering under applications and gaming (or something similar to that) Since there are so many routers out there, if you post your specific model, I'll try to find the exact directions for your router to enable port triggering.
Also, you must make sure that you have the latest firware for your router. I can check this for you once I have your model number.

I think you may be speaking a different language! lol Thanks for all the info, I will check those things(if I can figure it out). Going to have my husband read over your post because he is a little more computer literate than me! Thanks!

We are not having any problems on the desktop except very occasionally getting knocked off. But when we were both playing TT the laptop would lose connection but the desktop never did. Our router is a LINKSYS Wireless-G Broadband Router w/802.11 access point. Model # WRT54G We just got the laptop and wireless after Christmas, so they are pretty new. If this type router is the problem then what recommendations would you make for a new router? Thanks for all your help!

Ok now this may seem odd, but I am not having nearly the problems getting kicked off with my paid account as I am having with my free account on my laptop. Is that just coincidence do you think?

Are you in TTC when you are in your paid account. The HUGE amount of people in TTC is RIDICULOUS compared to even DD. I hope this might explain it. PS. I pick up TONS of lag in TTC.

When on my paid account I wasn't in TTC. Didn't even think of the amount of people. Maybe I will be able to kick my hubby off tonite and actually play! lol

Hi BB, I was wondering if you could help me now. We had to replace our router after the lightning strike. It's working on wireless but TT disconnects while on wireless. I can't remember what we did to configure the old router (same model) but it worked great.
I called D-Link and gave them these port numbers and he said he needs to know which is TCP port and which is UDP. Do you know the answer to this? (I'm asking TT too, but you know how they are, LOL)
It's a D-Link DGL 4300. It lists the firmware version as 1.7 , 10/05/2006.
Thanks for any help you (or anyone) can give me.
