Where are manners in Bossbot HQ
View Single PostView Single Post

[colorI just would like to ask a question....Where is everybody's manners? I am so sick of people being extremely rude and nasty on this game!!! Some of these toons I know are adults!! Your behavior is not acceptable and is worse than any child I have seen playing on this game!!!!! I thought this game was about having fun, playing together to reach the same goals...not about hubris regarding who is better, bigger or think they are in their own minds. Some of the toons, aka adults, well known on this site are the rudest individuals I have ever encountered!!! You know who you are and if your behaviour continues I will name your names here as well as report you to Disney repeatedly so you are suspended!!!! Letting the little ones die on purpose, alting out when they are on the elevator are just two of the instances I can name. Grow up and act your age!!! [/sis It is a game stupid, not life!!! Get with the program and stop setting bad examples for the children who play this game!!!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I hope this did not happen on one of our scheduled runs. We try very hard to balance loads and the only ones I let go green are peach duckies and the occasional orange mousie.

I am sorry that you have experienced bad manners on toontown. I have run into many toons that seem to forget that they are playing with other people, there are people behind those toons! I don't understand how someone could treat others so poorly, likely they would not treat someone like that if they were face to face instead of hiding behind a toon in a cartoon world. However, as I say that please remember that sometimes what we may perceive as someone being rude or "greifing" may be completely off. We don't know if at the same time someone is supposed to be choosing a gag they are answering the phone, or trying to help their child tie their shoe. We don't know if they are standing there not responding to our requests for help that they are really just away from the computer. My best suggestion is just give people the benefit of the doubt, as I would assume we would like others to do the same for us if the same thing were happening to us.

I do not know what "well known" toons you are referring to on this site, but I encourage you to attend some of the ttf boss runs that are held everyday (and information is posted everyday) and see what the toons on this site are really about. I know they have helped me learn this game better than I ever thought possible. I have met some of the best people that play this game on this site, so I would hope you could see them at their best, instead of being upset at their actions when their is no indication that they are purposely trying to wrong you or any other toon in any way.

I know that especially when a new area comes out on toontown, there is a rush on that new area that is very intense, but it is temporary. Eventually things will die down again, and people that are rushing, being hubristic as you say, trying to be the "firsts" to max will go back to their normal playing habits, and the whole area calms down. I would encourage you to stay positive and just remember that this is, in your words a game. Good luck, and I hope that you can avoid these toons who have wronged you and continue to have fun.

Wow, I would say go ahead and name names here, why wait? With the screenshots, too, please! As far as I know the "well-known" toons on this site are far from what you describe, at least the ones I know are! There are always at least two sides to the story. So let's get this out in the open so we can straighten it out, what do you say?

I'd like to point out that names are replicated, and are not individual to people.

For example, my account is named Silly Bubbles after my Test toon. But if you go on open you will find Silly Bubbles there that isn't me.
So its possible that the toons you think are from here are really not the toons that are from here. (please follow silly bubbles thought patterns.)

I will on occasion, trap people on elevators. Not because they have low laff or gags. But because I have noticed that they are being discriminative, rude, or just aren't playing right. I think that if the toons have low laff and/or gags and are trying to get in the VP, they must have enough skill to beat factories. Now that I have a HW, people tend to flock to me. I never want to let a little toon go sad. I feel the guilt. I have seen one person here that might have done this but, whoops! They got banned for trying to share an account a long long time ago( before I had my account here I used to just skim the posts). That person was very rude if I might add wot wot!

That's certainly one possibility I had in mind.

For another thing, there are so many differences in interpretation, and so many things you can't clarify through speedchat. For instance, where you see "letting little toons die on purpose" could easily be something like "a little toon used a bugle on a row of 12s and we could not help him" or "sometimes you have to kill a cog because you can't just spend the entire time tooning". Alting out on the elevator could actually be "I told you and told you I was helping a friend and you kept shuffling our full load of friends. We had to do something to get you to stop".

Sometimes toons who seem to be mean to each other are just friends goofing off. My friends and I do that a lot. Many of the "well-known" toons here do that with their friends. We mostly try not to do it when non-friends are present, but sometimes it happens and is misunderstood.

And sometimes, believe it or not, people try to start trouble and rumors by badmouthing other toons for no reason.

I always like to hear more info, and preferably see screenshots, before jumping on the "what a bad toon" bandwagon.

Yes, I do see toons that will try to make you have a bad experience. For example, I've used my 44 laffer for a little while and lost 2 out of 3 factories because of toons that I guess just wanted me gone. The first time, I was the first into the room with the foreman, with everyone else right behind me, but no one ever went in with me. The other time was also battling the foreman. There was a 100+ laffer, myself, and 2 ubers (in River). I would guess that the ubers knew what they were doing. The 100+ lured everyone, and then one uber decided to use sound. I went with the sound when there was about 1 second left to choose gags because I figured that I would do at least a litttle damage. I took quite a lot of damage that time, and only had about 7 laff left. The next round no one used toon-up on me, they used it on everyone else (no TU gags that effect everyone were used), which basically left me for dead. I've seen some other things, but I also have seen some good things. I try to help other toons, but I'll say that I'm not really willing to go in a VP with lots of really low laff levels because I don't really want to risk it. Sorry that you have had some bad experiences, but from what I've seen here the last couple of months, I can't really believe anyone here would do something like that.

Clarification to my comment
View Single PostView Single Post

Just to let all of you know, this toon is a noob. As a noob, I would never take this toon to such a place as Boss until I earned more laff points. It hasnt made it out of TTC yet. I have a two toons , one is a big cheese in Boss, the other is a toon >100. As an adult, I have witnessed these behaviors personally and know all to well what message some of these toons are conveying to others. One does not need a great deal of grey matter to extrapulate what the meanings are intending to imply. One of the responses made to my rant hones one of the points I was intending to make, "distraction of a parent tying a shoe." One doesnt know if a person is distracted momentarily from the game attending to normal pauses in one's life, such as a telephone ringing, etc. I understand the intensity of a new program going online in TT such as Boss, but it does not excuse the behaviors I have witnessed playing this game. I have met some of the nicest people on this game as well...that being stated, they would not be my friends if they behaved in such an appalling manner. The other day as a big cheese I went onto the elevator with two other toons who were big cheese also. The rest of the toons were a mixture of flunkies, etc with laff of 105 to 108. As soon as the door closed to the elevator, they alted out; and no...they were not with a group of friends. They were only two of the eight trying to CEO. They place was deserted for a change. As an adult , I am pretty sure I can tell who the kids are from the adults. I might not be right 100% of the time, but close. These are adults behaving poorly! As an adult, it embarrasses me greatly. Embarassed

Yes, you are right about stinking friends, ect. My friends and I also do it for laughs. I purposefully logged onto this site with this toon name because when I have my Big Cheese toon out, you better believe i will take screenshots!! These behaviors do not happen to me personally, but I have witnessed them. One thing I think is hysterical about the players on TT, the ones behind the computers assume just because you have a big laff, one is a good player. Just yesterday in CEO, a toon with a laff of 128 stood and did nothing while we were squirting the CEO. I have also seen toons with laffs who have been hit but have a laff >100 take all the snacks while the small toons laffs were down below 45. I learned along time ago not to assume a person was a good player based on their laff points. Neutral

It really stinks how people shuffle off lower suits. Normally that suggests they are not up to the challenge of playing with less experienced toons.

Sorry, aggravating as it may be that does not in any way meet the description in your earlier post. If you want to rant in general, rant on. If you are going to specifically accuse "well known" site members, I say out with them! Post those names so they can defend their side before you go off on them further. Were they site members or not? If not, you really need to remove that part of your rant.

And let's see those screenshots you took. Smile

There is alot more rudeness in general in the game than there was when I first started...
A couple of weeks ago I had the help a new toon task and I couldn't believe how rude and nasty new / trail toons are...
I took a shower and used soap this time and they keep saying "You Stink!".

I too would like to see some names. Also what crimes each of these toons committed. Sorry but it upsets me to come on a site and one of the first posts is a rant about our members in a general statement. Like Z said....2 sides to every story. Let the accused tell theirs.

People are pretty rude. I haven't had as many people get angry(doesn't even begin to describe it) at me for not having sound. I haven't senn as many DDL stink fights either. But boss battles have gotten TERRIBLE!!! Not outside the battles while waiting for elevators, but IN the battles. And trial toons are a bit rude. Trying to keep people out of battle and then laughing and stinking the person they shut out. GET A LIFE! Don't wreck other people's lives!

I originally came to the defense because I am good friends with a lot of the "well known" toons on this site. I agree... give us the names and let them defend themselves. Otherwise you are accusing all of us of this behavior, and I take exception to that.

Good eye. No, I don't believe s/he did. Personally, I would require screenshots to even entertain such a rant. No offense. If you're going to come to a small site with something like this, be prepared to put some proof out there. You haven't even come up with names, as you threatened to do but were told sure, go ahead -- yet where are they? And have changed the story, from the rudest behavior you ever saw to shuffling? Nope, doesn't compute! Try again.

Am I sorting this out correctly that the impetus to your rant was a TTC toon being treated poorly trying to get into the CGC? While I personally would not have stunk the toon, I can certainly understand toons not wanting to board with him/her. If that toon was constantly causing shuffle trying to board with toons that needed options, I don't think you'd find much pity for him.

How many people do you know that would alt out of a full elevator? Sounds suspiciously like a disconnect, there've been a rash of them lately ESPECIALLY in boss hq. Prime times to disco - on the 8th floor of a 9 hole and on the elevator ride down.

Again, there's more than one explanation. Of course, there are plenty of 128 laff toons that are poor players . . . I can personally attest to that Shocked . However, a 128 standing there not doing anything during the seltzer is frequently becuase that 128 is double tooning. They were quite likely operating another toon on that elevator that was contributing significantly to the selzer.
