Is there some way to play toontown in a window so that you can run some chat application on the side?
If so..... when I try to switch to the window Toontown will crash.... hmmmmm
Also, is there a particular chat thing that everyone here uses? ummm... and still remembering my recent suspension.... is there anything that is "bad" to post on here? Am I allowed to ask about the chat thing? and if so can I ask for people's names to add them? Just don't want to get into trouble for something I don't realize... LOL

um ok I just read that part that you are supposed to read BEFORE you start posting..... he he he.... sorry...
Here is part of it:
"Personal Information in G-Rated Forums" - This site has children present therefore asking for or volunteering personal information is not allowed. Personal Info consists of, but is not limited to: Real Life Names, Age, Gender, Location, Email Address exchanges, Instant messenger ID's, Password/Account Information, School Information and other similar details. This also applies to posting personal pictures of the users, their schools, homes (that include their exact locations), etc. This includes posting this information through Private Messages or on Personal Blogs. We here at toontownfriends.com strive to keep the environment as safe as possible for our users.
So my question is now this: is there any acceptable way for an adult (such as myself) to get to add people to some type of messenger thingy so that we can chat during playing time... but in such a way that is legal and safe (and I don't get into trouble here or on toontown itself)?

Ask away!
Yes you can play in window mode. I use to crash wayyyy back when I tried to switch it but can't (of course) remember how I fixed that. We're talking a few years ago. I'm sure a much smarter techie person than I will come along and answer that one.
Some people here use Skype, some Ventrillo and some other things. Sure....feel free to ask whatever around here. Since I assume you want to talk to the person you mentioned in your suspension thread then I would also assume you'd know their info? Oh...BTW don't mention Skype or any other chat program name on TT. They frown on that. And whatever you do DO NOT sing happy birthday to jammie wearing cats!
BTW thanks for asking if things are allowed. Appreciate that!

The only way I communicate with other TTF people while playing is if they're my SF. It takes a while for everyone to get to know you before they become your friend. I only just started getting some the other week. I've never tried chatting on AIM or something like that while playing, it would be too hard minimising my browser every couple of seconds.

Almost that time of year again too!
Jennifer - best bet here is that if you wish to talk to someone, just PM them and offer your AIM name (or whatever). Here there is a program called Prillian and if you choose to be 'shown' then you are on and likely available to chat. Personally I prefer an AIM type program. I play in windows mode and can have the two running at the same time. I most prefer using SF chatting though.

I didn't realize for a long time you could play in window mode. So in case you don't know how, I fixed it in the book under options I believe. I usually have two things going and not many problems except on my laptop as it makes the lag worse. Just have to try it out and see. One other tip is to not say anything about doodle training. No Doodle Training Time!
