View Single PostView Single Post

I was wondering what your guyes opinions/suggestions are for my next gag track. Smile

I got to choose from Drop Level 1 Drop or Trap Level 1 Trap its a hard decision to make. Mr. Green

Thanks,
Zakky

Varmit! That's no way to start a heated debate Smile

My toons have mostly chosen drop. To me, it is more of a matter of how I usually play.
I do a LOT of my work on my toons solo. It is much easier to solo a 4 story cash in Dreamland if you have 3 pianos.
For gag working, I've done plenty of 3 story buildings in Donald's Dock only using my drop.

TNT and trains are lots of fun and very useful in boss battles. So, if you always have a friend to run with, then trap is cool.

I like both too. When I play a toon that doesn't have drop, I seem to wish I had it--especially since it can kill with one shot a lot of times. When I am playing with a toon that doesn't have trap, I miss it too--however, more in the da's and boss fights than other places. This probably isn't much help in your decision making, though. Cool
I would say make at least one toon without trap and one toon without drop, then with the third toon it may be easier to make that decision. Very Happy

I would go with Drop first. I love my big boat. I have it planted. I have trap on Raven and she hasn't maxed it yet...just barely got the trap door. When I play with Raven and no drop...I feel helpless. I would trade if I could.

Trap takes either 2 people (one with working lure and not that discount lure that has been going around) or it takes 2 turns which means you will get hit once. Raven has done a lot of solos trying to work her trap and she is lucky to make it thru a 4 story with 2 or 3 laff left.

ALSO, I hear you only get 2 of the bombs compared to 3 pianos and 5 of the one before compared to 7...what's up with that anyway? Mr. Green

I recently had to make the same descision, and I went with trap. Trap has always seemed more exciting to me. Plus, I like accuracy. Mr. Green
Sometimes I wish I had chose drop though, because I feel kind of left out when I'm in a building and everyone else is using it but I don't have it.
I'm still in training for it, but I only need 5 more frames!

You can always pick the other one with a different toon. When I'm done with my gag training, I'm gonna train another one of my toons with the opposite choice of everything I chose for my main toon. Does that make sense? Razz For example, I'm gonna pick toon-up first instead of sound, then drop instead of lure, etc.

I picked trap for Bucky, and I still haven't maxxed it (4 months later? Shocked). However, it is quite fun to use, it's just very time consuming to train. I have a really small toon (45 laffer that's very neglected) that has drop, and it's also fun to mess around with.

I like them both. I too have then on different tunes. I would suggest that if you choose trap get lure also for those times when you are by yourself or nobody has lure. Have fun

There's good things about both. However, they are both probably the hardest gags to max out. I trained for drop the second time for gag training and that took me forever to max out! I had all my other gags maxed out except for drop in which I was still stuck on the safes. Neutral I haven't had a toon with trap, but that sure must take a long time too! Shocked Do you have lure yet? If not, it would probably be a good idea to find someone with lure to help you along with your trap gags. AND, it would be helpful for someone to come along and help with drop gags too by using a gag before you use your drop so that your gag will hit more accurately.

Drop gags are pretty helpful for boss battles where someone can usually use sound to help you land your pianos on the high level cogs. I think trap gags are helpful for boss battles too, but especially the mints, DAs, etc. When I'm in DAs and fighting the cogs at the end of the floor before going in the elevator, I love to see the TNT gag being used because you can get rid of the cogs faster in my opinion. Uh...same with the drop gags. Mr. Green I just can't make up my mind! They're both helpful for so many reasons!

Drop gags or trap gags would both be good to have. They're both powerful and fun to use! Good luck! Very Happy

That's why my toon has both. Razz You don't need no stinking lure! Though I did max my drop first but it was also the second gag I took and trap was the last gag I took. My son had chosen lure and would have been great except we couldn't play together. Rolling Eyes

If you have some real nice friends who need merits, the factory is a good place to work either of those as well. I had some good friends when I was working mine so got lucky with that part.

Yeah - you can train drop on your own, but trap is much harder (and time-consuming because you get more hits).
Now, if you are like a certain kitty I know - you start new toons with a friend. Then, go on vacation and tell them to get to the blue magnet in lure. Then, come back and do millions of buildings together and your friend will just lure, lure, lure, toon-up, lure for you. That works Smile

P.S. Do you know how many banana peels it takes to kill a lvl 6 cog??

I have to choose between those soon, and I think I'm gonna do drop. I've never had drop before because on my old toons I always chose trap because its not possible for them to miss, but drop misses a lot. But its completely up to you. It seems that both are pretty great.

Actually, drop's pretty darn accurate when hit by a different gag earlier that turn. How often do you see a safe or piano miss when the cog has been hit by sound or something already?

If you solo a lot drop is probably the best choice. It gives "First Strike" capability, to take out a single cog without getting hit - providing it hits.

If you team most, trap is excellent. The overall gag hits are higher for the same levels, and the only drawback is the reduced carrying counts. They are, too, as accurate as the lure used with them.

No matter your choice, the best place to work the new ones - levels 1, 2, and 3, is Welcome Valley. The cogs there just love to be hit by the new toons. I find it's easier to grow them there early on, especially with the first two drop gags.

WOW.
that actually just helped me so much =]

on a different note:
i just had to do the same thing, pick between drop and lure and i picked drop. it just seems like you can fend off cogs a lot easier on your own and that they're a lot more powerful

besides,
haven't you always wanted to drop a piano on someone? =P

I think you should use trap or drop. No matter which you chose make sure you pick lure later if you do alot of solo runs. Because you need lure to do five story building SOLO now. I don't have lure so I cant do five story build because of that or SOLO VP, CFO, I need help with lure sos card. Most of the higher toons know later you will have to do 100 five story build I wish I would have know that before I need to chose, kept that in mind!! whoopthereis
