I find they actually listen to me if I speak softly (as if I am not talking to them, heehee) Honest! It finally hit me yesterday as I was chastizing them for not doing something I had asked them to do. They said they hadn't heard me (though they had said "yes ma'am" after I said it - we already have a rule that if they "yes ma'am" me they are acknowleging that they heard me and they are can not come back later and say they didn't! Sheesh! 
Anyway, saying something under my breath as if I don't really want them to hear is the best way to get them to listen! heehee _________________
