Granny, I was stinky with you. If this isn't stinky, then what is? I got you down to 2 laff and kept myself high enough to sustain another round.
There is a perpetrator for sending people to the dark side, but its' name is not Thelonius, nor is it a toon of any sorts. No, my dear friends, the monster is here:
Hidden within these walls is a villain so dastardly that even the cogs had to bury it in the depths of the Brrrgh.
Take a journey with me, my friends, to a crisp day in April in what is known as "Test Town Territory." Law HQ had finally opened its' doors and toons were clammering to enter the realm of law and order, hoping to bring some justice to ToonTown. Little did the toons know that by entering such a place, they themselves were about to become Judge and jury and determine the fate of other toons worldwide. This Cog HQ somehow turned the toons themselves into cogs. The toons still wear their toony characters, but just like the cog suit we apply when entering a boss battle, these cogs are wearing toon suits.
I will admit that I was assimilated into the cog "collective" for a time myself. I entered Law HQ that April day, hoping to catch a glimpse of a new land to conquer. I was greeted by my friends that couldn't even wait 30 seconds for me to pass a code to 2 other friends. As I entered the CJ lobby, my jaw dropped as I saw 2 of my "closest" friends on TT, already standing in the elevator, doors closing. It took me a moment to recoup. I whispered to my friends and the response I received was, "Oh, I didn't know you wanted us to wait." A sad day in Toontown when your best friends have to GUESS if you want them to wait.
The maniacal plot thickened when this HQ appeared in Open territory. The thick, cold walls of this corrupt asylum turned toons into ogres. The transition had begun. It was inevitable that these toons would switch to the dark side, bearing the oppressive costumes that WoW could provide.
I had already lost friends to the Beast on Test. My one true friend remained. He was ardent about maxing his law suit, and not wanting to lose another friend, I followed him as closely as I could. I was a mere 14 suits behind him when he maxed, and I'm sure I couldn't have done it that fast if it hadn't been for this gem of a friend.
Sadly, by clinging so hard to my friend, Doug, I myself became part of the conspiracy. I stopped attending CCG runs; halted all merits and bucks; I ate, slept, and drank from the judiciary cup known as the Chief Justice. In my quest to max my own suit, I spent countless hours at the behemouth "Office D." I watched once kind and caring toons turn into these ... these ... savages that would ditch toons at the count of 0 for such insignificant handicaps such as being soundless. I watched with horror as the "You stink!" and "Please go away!" phrases bounced off the walls like the flickering light from a campfire. Toons that I considered helpful were all of a sudden trolls themselves.
And so the pattern was set. Perhaps if the reward for defeating the Chief Justice had been sweeter, such fine toons would not have fallen to the dark side. But what can you expect? In VP, the reward is to call on another toon; in CFO the reward is to use a toony phrase; yet in CJ, our reward is none other than to call on more of the scoundrels that we are trying so hard to defeat. What an interesting twist... bringing in more of the ones we don't want. It's almost like showing your battle plans to the other side.
Oh, yes, there is an evildoer in Toontown, and its' name is Chief Justice. And Toontown will never again be the same. _________________ Why did Max McWoof give me this salt shaker for Christmas????? And why is it engraved, "WOOP!"?????
