Ever since I can remember, you've been higher than the U.S. My husband will be traveling once again to good ol Canada...I'm sure he'll be filling up before he leaves the states, but the return trip requires a fill up there in Canada. You guys have all those taxes on the gas (not just gas though)...which hikes it up even farther...gft and pft tax, right? He's making a trip next week for a day. Then the trips start again mid-June (3 year project...) ROFL at pft, pretty much how I feel about our taxes pffffffffft. Actually it is GST and PST(goods and services tax and provincial sales tax. In the Easter provinces they have HST(harmonized sales tax, like there could be any harmony in taxes). On top of that our local transit has added a surtax at the pump to pay for the upkeep of the busses and to try and get us out of our cars and into public transit.
