as Grand Pupa I thought I should research what the heck a "Pupa" is:
From the WIKI:
In the life cycle of "Toon" the pupal stage follows the larval stage and precedes adulthood (imago). It is during the time of pupation. Pupa are inactive, and usually sessile. They have a hard protective coating and often use camouflage to evade potential predators. (and Orange Cats)
Duration
Pupation may be brief, for example 2 weeks as in monarch butterflies, or the pupa may enter dormancy or diapause until the appropriate season for the adult Toon returns (in temperate climates pupae usually stay dormant during winter, in the tropics pupae usually do so during the dry season).
Emergence
Toons emerge (eclose) from the pupa by splitting the pupal case, and the whole process of pupation is controlled by the Toon's payment schedule to Disney. Most butterflies emerge in the morning. In mosquitoes the emergence is in the evening or night. In fleas the process is triggered by vibrations that indicate the possible presence of a potential host.
Sooo, I guess I must be a Pupa! But I wanna be a Butterfly.....
WAH!
Now from Fred Flintstone: The Grand Pooh-Bah!
The expression "The Grand Pooh-Bah" was first introduced on the television show The Flintstones. Fred Flintstone and his friend Barney Rubble were members of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes Lodge No. 26. A high ranking elected position within this organization is Grand Poobah or Grand Imperial Poobah.
And lastly:
Grand Poobah is a term that originates from Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado. In this operetta, the haughty character Pooh-Bah holds numerous exalted offices, including Lord Chief Justice, Master of the Buckhounds, Lord High Auditor, Groom of the Back Stairs, and Lord High Everything Else. The name has come to be used as a mocking title for someone self-important or high-ranking and who exhibits an inflated self-regard.
Yup I must be a Pooh-Bah!
PS: If you ever get a chance to se the Mikado, it is delightful. Love the characters: Ko-Ko, Nanki-Poo, Pish-Tush, Pitti-Sing, etc.. Perfect Fodder for some toon names....? |
