Banana Brain Minnie's Melodyland Toon	Posted: Thu Sep 20, 2007 2:52 pm    Post subject: LadyZ : Banana Brain : LOL Woohoo for the popsicles When I checked the tech forums, I saw that there were similar complaints when playing graphic intensive games with the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP but unfortunately no solutions. It is onboard video with most likely 64 MB of RAM and there really isn't a way to upgrade it. I wish I could have been more help. Boy, am I glad this post got bumped and I saw this. I have that problem with my laptop. I can't seem to upgrade the ATI that came with the unit. Is there really no way to upgrade it?! I can get an update from their site but in the middle of installation it always tells me I "need to insert disk 2" or something like that (I don't HAVE a disk ). I keep meaning to call the Help Line but haven't gotten around to it and of course they are not open when I think of it. But I absolutely can NOT play TT on it, no matter how good my connection is. I can garden or fish, but if I try to TP more than one place I lock up and as Tommy said, I can't even do a ctrl/alt/delete. ( I'm thinking you are talking about upgrading the video driver, not the video card. Can you post what video controller your laptop has (right click on my computer, go to properties, hardware tab, click on device manager, and look under display adapters) and do you remember what disc you are being asked for? Also, what operating system do you use and what model laptop you have. If you wanted to upgrade the video card....most laptops have onboard video which means the video is built right into the motherboard, so there isn't a video card to remove and upgrade. The only way to upgrade video would mean to change the whole motherboard. Laptops are proprietary so you would need a motherboard with usb ports and such in the exact spots as the ones on your current motherboard. If you could find one, it would be costly and just isn't worth it.
