....So when you say "paired with" that is the craner we are protecting? Is everyone making sf with their "pair" or just letting them do their thing while we keep them safe?

No SF's are required. Originally the "Paired With" just meant that this group of stompers will be paired with this group of crainers. However, I really don't see the downside in pairing a stomper with a craner. That way every craner knows that they have their own protector.

Also, Nanner, very good suggestion about practicing your new found skills. That is exactly what I did after receiving training from the TTF. You are not going to be an expert after one practice round, unless your a savant. This event is just an opportunity to get your feet wet in a non-hostile environment.
