If you have enabled port triggering for ports 6112 and 6667, have the latest video drivers, know that your modem is properly working and are still experiencing disconnects you may need to adjust your MTU value. The MTU (maximum transmission unit) is described as the size of the largest datagram that can be sent over a network. If the datagram is larger than an MTU, the datagram must be fragmented into multiple smaller datagrams. What this means for MTUs and Toontown....too high an mtu value will cause fragmentation of the data packet and you will experience disconnects.
Here is a good site that explains how to find the correct mtu value for your home network.
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/5793
Once you have determined the correct mtu value, access your router's configuration, and change the value to that number (and don't forget to add 28 and document the value that you are changing just in case you need to change it back). The site suggests downloading DrTCP (which I have never tried) Since most of you are using a router, there is no need to download any program---determine the value, access your router configuration and insert this number as your mtu setting)
Hope this helps and isn't too "geeky" and confusing.
This is what my test showed:
C:\Documents and Settings\Kathy>ping www.google.com -f -l 1492
Pinging www.l.google.com [72.14.205.104] with 1492 bytes of data:
Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set.

Ping statistics for 72.14.205.104:

C:\Documents and Settings\Kathy>ping www.google.com -f -l 1482

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 29ms, Maximum = 30ms, Average = 29ms
I started with 1492, and decreased by ten until I received a reply, rather than the message that the packet needed to be fragmented. At 1472 I received a reply.
When I add 28 to 1472 (the value where my packet did not fragment) my correct mtu value is 1500, the default value, so I do not need to change my MTU settings.
