A few months ago, I invested in a DLink gaming router (DGL 4100....they also make a wireless version DGL 4300). This was probably one of the best ways I've spent 100 bucks lately. This router is SWEET!!! I have done absolutely nothing to the router....no port triggering, no adjusting mtu's, etc and I have yet to disconnect. This router is, IMO, a great router for people that aren't comfortable with accessing and changing default router configurations. It also provides gigabit ethernet versus 100 mbs per sec.
Before this router, I had a Linksys router. With my old linksys router I had to manually adjust the router's configurations for port triggering which solved almost all of the disconnects. Once I adjusted the mtus, I didn't have any more discos (cept for the dreaded video driver update discos ) |
We have the D-Link router, just got it when the computers were delivered. We actually have the DGL-4500, wireless gaming router. It was $199, not sure what all the specs are on it, and not really sure what to think of it so far with having so many problems. I'm sure my friends on TT are getting a bit leary of playing with me... 
Our old router was a Linksys also. Never really used it due to the fact that I was on a desktop and a hard line with XP. |
