| No, you cannot access the same account and play different toons from it at the same time.
What you saw was just a group of friends that decided to make toons (each having their own account) together. They decided ahead of time what size, type and shape to create. Most usually also pick the same outfits and similar names. I've seen some that even have the same name! Those are freaky!! Some folks refer to this as a toon clan.
