I'd have to say those are great places to visit. We spend the week near Kitty Hawk just down the island in Kill Devil Hills. Just north of Nags Head.  I have heard Jamestown and Williamsburg are nice as well lol. Don't forget Yorktown. I don't think there would be any toll roads between you and there either which is nice as BB mentioned something about it. The fun way would be to go over to the Eastern Shore and up north at least more scenic though that bridge does cost money.
