Oh dear! Now I have to defend the Prius again 
I can enter any expressway, anytime, anywhere with no fear. I can accelerate from 0 to 60 just like in any of my other cars. Now, it is not a V6 or anything but it has enough power to get moving when you need to. I wouldn't make any wild passing moves in it, but I'm generally not that kind of driver anyway. I owned a Buick Century for several years that DID have a V6. One time, it totally freaked me out as it went into overdrive while I was passing on a backroad. I was so surprised, I almost put on the brake .
I've been up to 85 mph in it (this is not recommended in any car as it is above the speed limit, so you kids out there just ignore this statement!). It cruises just fine.
